Itinerary

Day 1:
Cusco - Kilometer 82 - Wayllabamba

Our adventure begins between 6:00 and 6:20 am, our guide will arrive by bus to your hotel to pick you up and lead you direct to Km 82. It will be a 3-hour trip, including a stop in Ollantaytambo for some shopping or breakfast. On the way we will have a view of the communities that are part of the Sacred Valley; Chinchero, Maras, Urubamba and Ollantaytambo.

We will arrive at Km 82 approximately at 9:30 am, in this place we will meet the team that will accompany us during our trek (porters, cooks and the travel coordinator). Starting our journey will be quite easy in the first few kilometers. We will take a close look at the beautiful snow-capped La Verónica and visit the archaeological group of Patallacta, where we will listen to the guide’s exposition. After an hour of hiking, we will arrive to Tarayoc here we will have lunch and we will be able to recover forces to continue until 3000 m.s.n.m, Wayllabamba, place where we will camp.

Day 2:
Wayllabamba - Pacaymayu

The day starts with a delicious breakfast buffet, then we start our trek direct to the Abra of Warmi Huañuska at 4,200 masl, the most complicated section of the route. We ascend gradually from 3,000 masl, making stops to rest and receive explanations from the guide about the Flora and Fauna of the area. ¡It will ceritanly be a great adventure!

We will arrive at the top around 1:00 pm, we will make a little rest and we will continue the way of descent until arriving at our camp Pacaymayu 3,600 masl

Food: Snack, breakfast, lunch, slunch and dinner.

Day 3:
Pacaymayu - WiñayHuayna

We will start our trek after a delicious breakfast. This day the journey will be longer and the most beautiful of our adventure, 16 km of route realized between 8 to 9 hours. On the way we will see different archeological centers and more than 100 varieties of orchids, as well as beautiful birds and spectacled bear. We will pass through two Inca tunnels, descend for more than 3 thousand stone steps, and walk through the original Inca constructions admiring the high hydraulic engineering and architectural beauty of the place, we will arrive at our camp around 4:30 pm to 5:00 pm.

Food: Snack, breakfast, lunch, slunch and dinner.

Day 4:
WiñayHuayna - Machu Picchu

Only two hours separates us from arriving at Machu Picchu (one of the Seven Wonders of the World), we will wake up very early to continue our route. We will line up at the checkpoint and continue along a narrow road until we reach the Inti Punku (door of the sun), a tall and enigmatic place where we will see the majestic horizon of Machu Picchu, from here you can take the photo postcard to share your family and friends. The guide will give a short introduction of the history of Machu Picchu and then continue until arriving at the Inca citadel.

At approximately 8:00 am, the tour will begin, lasting between 2 hours and 2 hours and a half, then we will have time to visit other places inside Machu Picchu and you can take all the selfies you want. At the end we will descend to the town of hot waters to board the train that will transport us to the city of Cusco.

FAQs

Pick up of guests
Machu Picchu Vip can pick you up from your hotel, as long as it’s in the Historical Center of Cusco. Your guide will coordinate the pickup time in the briefing session, but please keep in mind that the time may vary between 20 and 35 minutes due to traffic.
Group Tours
Group tours are made up of different types of people, then physical conditions and ages can vary. By agreeing to be part of a group tour, you also accept that some people may be faster or slower than you. Therefore, each person can go at their own pace on the route. It may be the case that a group wishes to modify the tour; however, the guide will be the one who decides, after consulting with all the participants, if such modifications are possible.
Strikes in cusco
Are usually common in Peru, and this may interrupt some of our tours. Roads can be blocked, and train tracks can be taken over. However, we will try to keep your trip as originally planned, even if it means leaving the night before the scheduled date. Under these circumstances, tours may also be canceled. In case of changes or cancellations, everything will be coordinated with you by our operations department. Your safety is our highest priority, and our decisions will be made to protect it.
Lost objects
Please pay attention to where you leave your things and remember to take everything once you leave our transport, tents, or restaurants. You’re the only one responsible for your objects during the tour.
I can change or cancel my tour
Of course you can modify the date of your tour up to 24 hours before and you can cancel up to 15 days before, but there will be charges for administrative expenses

There are two different trains we can use; the way is the same only the wagons, comfort and the sight are different.
