The floating island of Uros is one of the most unique attractions of world tourism. It is built in artificial way made by totora, a plant of thin leaves that grows in the lake. This material is also used in the manufacture of all crafts and boats which its inhabitants use to go fishing. The floating island is 4 km. from Puno.
To get to the floating islands of Uros you have to take the motorboat service, which depart from the port of Puno from 8:00 to 14:00, we can find these boats on the banks of the Lake in the city of Puno, and usually the route can be made in about 3 hours.
Women in the community tend to welcome visitors with songs and with their traditional dress, and the president of the island giving a cordial reception to welcome the tourists. This island still has clothing and terraces of the Inca people. The island is considered one of the oldest towns in America, maintaining their customs and traditions. The Uros call themselves "kotsuña" which means “people of the lake”, its origins date back to eras before the Incas. They still maintain the tradition of artisanal fisheries especially and hunt wild birds.

Our trip to Lake Titicaca begins with the pickup from your hotel in Puno to go to the port of Puno where we board the boat that took us to the amazing floating islands of the Uros.

It is said that Uros have inhabited these islands for hundreds of years, people of the Uros know how to remove the abundant existing cane reed and put it together in large quantities and then putting them together to form small islands and platforms so that these ancient inhabitants despite the weather today remain living in artificial islands of reeds, known as the Water Tribe, they have to build their own islands regularly, adding new layers of "Totora." Their homes and boats are made from this material.

During our visit we will visit native families, schoolhouses, souvenir shops and can even ride in one of his little reed boats, then we will go in our boat to the island of Amantani, located at an altitude of 3.817 meters. Arriving at the island will taste typical local lunch, then we will go to the famous pre-Inca temples Pachamama and Pachatata , these temples are dedicated to the fertility of the land and ceremonial rituals are offered there.

This island is inhabited by Quechua-speaking natives still ruled by their ancient traditions, whose main business is the production of ceramics and textiles. The positive energy of this island is so powerful that it is known as the "Island of Love."

Here we have a magnificent panoramic view of the evening, after our visit we will have accommodation at the family home, dinner and overnight at Amantaní (Shared bathrooms, no hot water).

After breakfast descend to the port of Amantaní to take our boat and head to Taquile Island. This island is inhabited by Quechua-speaking natives who have developed an efficient work in community and every family to help each other, also implement the barter system, carried through generations (known as the barter exchange of goods) but their main economic activity is agriculture and are also expert weavers and artisans, local residents themselves have been directly involved in improving tourism in the island without losing their ancestral customs, after our visit we will have the typical lunch of fresh fish (Trout) in the afternoon we descend to the port for our boat to take us back to Puno.
