Museo Banco Central de Reserva del Perú


The museum is actively engaged in the preservation and restoration of Peru's historical legacy. Its archaeological collection comprises pottery, gold, wooden artefact’s and textiles from the Vicus, Mochica, Nasca, Lambayeque, Chimu, Chancay, Chavin, and Inca civilizations. The art gallery houses works by outstanding Peruvian painters of different schools and styles. The display follows a modern museological design and is located in the former Central Bank vaults

Museo Nacional de Arqueología, Antropología e Historia del Perú


The National Museum of Archaeology, Anthropology and History of Peru is the oldest state museum in Peru. You will find perfectly preserved pre hispanic ceramics, textiles, metals, organic materials and lithics related to human remains. Furthermore objects of historic artistic value are displayed. The documentary, photographic and bibliographic collections tell their story of the Colonial and Republican Period of Peru.

Museo Arqueológico Rafael Larco Herrera - Archeological Museum Rafael Larco Herrera


Founded in 1926, the Larco Museum showcases remarkable chronological galleries providing an excellent overview on 3000 years of development of Peruvian Pre-Columbian history. Located in a unique vice-royal mansion of the 18th century built over a 7th century Pre-Columbian pyramid and surrounded by beautiful gardens.

Museos Oro del Peru & Armas del Mundo - Fundacion Miguel Mujica Gallo


The museums 'Gold of Peru' and 'Weapons of the World' were founded by Miguel Mujica Gallo in 1968. The museum 'Gold of Peru' is one of the most important for exhibits of gold and silver from the different Pre-Columbian cultures. The Museum 'Weapons of the World' exhibits more than 20,000 pieces from all over the world, including various weapons, horse mountings, uniforms.

Museo Pedro de Osma - Museum of Pedro de Osma


Located in the old and traditional district of Barranco, is the Museum Pedro de Osma. The Museum has one of the best painting collections in Peru with pieces dating back to the 16th century. The paintings from well-known artists are on linen cloth, metal, wood, glass and leather. Antique pieces of furniture, silver, sculptures and textiles are as well part of the collection.

Museo de la Inquisición y Museo del Congreso del Perú - Museum of Inquisition and Congress


The Museum of Inquisition and Congress is housed in the old building of the National Senate and opened its doors to the public in 1968. During the Inquisition prisoner were tortured here in the basement. Today visitors can explore the dungeons and the places of torture. Apart from being quite creepy you’ll learn a lot about the history and the development of the Peruvian Congress.

Museo de Artes y Tradiciones Populares del Instituto Riva-Agüero (Universidad Catolica del Perú)


The museum was opened on the 25th of October 1979 founded with donations of some of the most important and significant art collectors in Peru like Mildred Merino de Zela, Mariano Benítes and Gertrud de Solari to name a few. The museum displays a beautiful ethnic collection of Peru. One of the main exhibits are masks. But you will find traditional costumes, ceramics, carvings, paintings and much more.

Museo de Arte de Lima - MALI


The Lima Art Museum (MALI) presents 3000 years of Peruvian art. The museum has a large selection of pre-Columbian textiles and ceramics, pictures and furniture from Colonial and Republican times and a significant selection of paintings and photographic works from modern times. A representative selection of these collections can be seen in a permanent exhibition on the first floor.

Museo Antonio Raimondi


The museum was founded in 1981 to preserve the legacy and work of the most important naturalistic traveler in Peruvian history, Antonio Raimondi. On his countless trips through the country he gathered samples from animals, plants, insects, minerals and stones, indexed the climate and its changes in different areas and observed people in their surroundings. The museum shows photos, drawings, plans.
